Fantastic film makers

This morning we used a brilliant app on the iPads called Puppet Pals.

We had to photograph our teddies and take photos of some settings or choose them from the internet.

From then on it was only a matter of seeing where your story telling imagination would take you. Some children set their animations in New York, China or the Himalayas. Others kept theirs closer to home. But all were amazing animators. 

The children all took themselves off somewhere quiet to work on their films, so they could record their voices without disturbance. 

The cooperation and teamwork which the children employed was super. From planning the scenes to deciding the speech to recording their mini movies all worked really well together.

Measuring Teddies.

Our teddies were needed to help with our maths this morning. We had to measure them in cm using rulers. We needed to remember all the rules for using a ruler like starting at 0 and having the ruler the right way up. Some of us found measuring round their tummies and heads tricky with a ruler. How might they solve this? 

We compared the measurements to find out who had the tallest, shortest, longest and widest.

Amazing Artists

Look at these phenomenal drawings done of our teddies. I am amazed at the skill of these 6 and 7 year old artists.

Finding out about our teddies.

We have written descriptive labels for our teddies. We described their texture, nose, paws, eyes, size and anything else important and distinctive about them.

Then we had to imagine our teddies could speak to the class, what would they say? We created speech bubbles for them.

Then we made Teddy Passports. These included information about their skills, hobbies and favourites.

Teddies have come to stay.
