Winter words

These wintery words were the starting point for these pictures.

Evidence of winter.

We went outside to look for signs of winter.

Even though it is cold the sky is still beautiful and blue.

The trees are all bare and their leaves have blown around the playground.

The grasses and flowers have died.

The clothes we wear are particularly important in winter too.

Fruit salad

We designed and made a healthy fruit salad. You can see how accurate we had to be to make the salad look just like the design. Some of us needed to use a grater for our salad but most of us needed to use the sharp knife to cut and slice different fruits. The carrots were the hardest.

Douglas' busy weekend with Connie.

Douglas had a busy weekend with Connie, first he had to eat all the party food at Brenna's birthday.

Then he had a surprise fishing treat with Connie's elf! Douglas hasn't been fishing before but thought it fun.

Another first for Douglas was visiting the Christmas lights, he loved this as he is not usually allowed out so late!

Douglas enjoys dressing up and has several outfits in his bag but this costume is amazing, he has asked if he can take part in Squirrel's and Badger's nativity play. You'll have to keep your eyes peeled to see if he sneaks onto the stage!

Christmas decorations

Do you like our decorations? We had to cut out the felt first and sew the two prices together, it was difficult as the needles kept coming unthreaded. Some of us made a stocking and others made a bauble which we stuffed. We added a ribbon so it will hang on our Christmas trees at home. Today we have been decorating one side of them, we will do the other side once this side has dried.
